Frances Parent

Frances Parent, age 84, a 45-year resident of Royal Oak, died April 12, 2009 in Bloomfield Hills. She was born October 7, 1924 in Bessemer Township, MI. Mrs. Parent worked as a registered nurse for 42 years. She enjoyed reading, art and ballroom dancing. She also loved traveling to Washington, D.C. and visiting the Smithsonian. She is survived by her children, Paul Joan Parent of Novi, Richard Elizabeth Parent of Cincinnati, OH, Renee Gordon Bouren of Royal Oak and Michelle Bill Shailor of Royal Oak; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Bud" Parent, on March 31, 2003. The couple married February 14, 1946 in Bessemer, MI. Visitation will be held Tuesday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Parent will lie in state Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Kenneth Kaucheck officiating.
