Florinda Adams

Florinda E. Adams, age 97, a resident of Royal Oak since 1941, died January 26, 2013 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born January 20, 1916 in Minden City, MI to the late Frank and Emma Meissner. Mrs. Adams worked in the Royal Oak School System for more than 20 years. She was also a member of the 50 Plus Organization at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She is survived by her sisters, Mildred Mette, Alice Sweeso and Bertha Richard McCoy; sisters-in-law, Betty Meissner and Bernice Meissner; grandson, Charles Adams, III; and great grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor, Zachary and Kaitlyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Adams, in 1996; son, Charles Adams, II; brothers, Walter Meissner, Clarence Meissner and Herman the late Geraldine Meissner; and grandson, Peter Adams. The visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Adams will lie in state Thursday 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak. Burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park West in Livonia.
