EvLynne Hansen

EvLynne Rossi Hansen, age 94, a 66-year resident of Royal Oak, passed away October 28, 2009 at Sunrise of West Bloomfield an assisted living facility, where she had been a resident for seven years. EvLynne was born November 1, 1914 in the Upper Peninsula town of Crystal Falls. She resided there until her marriage to Jess Hansen in December 1936. At that time, the couple traveled to Royal Oak to make their home. After being employed by Detroit Stamping Company in Birmingham for several years, EvLynne retired in 1979. She then worked for the City of Royal Oak as a crossing guard on the corner of Catalpa and Hilldale for 20 years. EvLynne is survived by two nieces and their families, Roberta D. Higginbotham of Walled Lake and Elizabeth Goerlitz of Elverson, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Hansen in 1983 and their daughter, Karen Hansen Murdoch in 1988. The visitation will be held Sunday 2-6 p.m. with a 5 p.m. Rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. EvLynne will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. The burial will take place immediately following the service at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley. Memorials to the National Shrine of the Little Flower appreciated.
