Evelyn was the youngest of the four "Ash Girls" survived by Dorothy Smith, preceded by Betty Johnson and Connie McChristian. Her beauty and adventuresome spirit won the heart of Robert Young. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Dorothy, her husband Gerard, daughter Cassandra and son William. Also, her son David, his wife Sally and daughters Pandora and Elizabeth. Evelyn and Bob took every opportunity to see the world appreciating diverse cultures and all that nature had to offer. They fully enjoyed all seasons with skiing, hiking, canoeing, golfing and tennis. With Bob's passing she continued to stay active to the end having traveled to Atlanta as recently as March to visit sister Dorothy. Closer to home, she attended DSO concerts and art events while enjoying the local independent Detroit cuisine. In her later years Evelyn was able to devote more time to her passion for reading and studying the "human condition". Her love for humanity and the natural world knew no bounds.
