Evelyn Sweet

Evelyn Ruth Sweet, 91, a resident of Troy, formerly of Boyne City, died March 4, 2009 in Davisburg. She was born October 8, 1917 in Munising. Mrs. Sweet was raised in Munising and moved to the Oakland County area in the 1940's. She is survived by her children, Christine R. Fredrick Purtell of Royal Oak and Linda Sweet of Maine; sister, Eleanor Ylinen of Marquette; grandchildren, Melissa Wienclaw and Laura Purtell; and great grandchildren, Lillian Wienclaw and Amelia Grace Wienclaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sweet, in 1986. The couple were married in 1945 in Napoleon, OH. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Prince of Glory Lutheran Church in Madison Heights, with the Rev. William Kirsh-Carr officiating.
