Simon, Evelyn Roos. Age 93. of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on January 21, 2011. She was born August 5, 1917 to Ora Stutesman and George Scott Roos in Wauseon, Ohio.
Evelyn married H. William Simon of Toledo, Ohio in July 1938. Mr. Simon passed away in 1989. Mrs. Simon was also predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Sue Simon, who died in November 2006.
Evelyn was a member of the Royal Oak Women?s Club for more than thirty years, serving as an officer at various times. She was also a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak. Mrs. Simon was an avid bridge player throughout her life belonging to different clubs wherever she lived. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Mrs. Simon graduated from Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio and attended the University of Toledo. She worked for Ohio Bell in Toledo and in later years at Jered Products in Troy, Michigan.
Mrs. Simon is survived by her son, William Scott Judi Simon of Lorena Texas, grandson, Thomas W. Hawkins of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, granddaughter, Susan Hawkins Adams of Royal Oak, Michigan, grandson, Scott Alexander Simon Alissa Davis of Los Angeles, California, granddaughter, Ashley Simon Bryant Isaacson of Hewitt, Texas, and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Simon is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. In addition she is survived by her canine companion, Stutesman. Visitation Monday 3 - 8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Instate Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of service 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, 529 Hendrie Blvd. Royal Oak.
