Eva Marie Bock, 39, died unexpectedly at Weston County Memorial Hospital September 11, 2008. Services will be held at the Crouch Auditorium in Newcastle on Wednesday, September 17 at 1:30 p.m. with graveside services following. A coffee will be held after the services at the Weston County Senior Citizen's Center for family and friends to celebrate Eva Marie's Life.
Eva Marie Bock was born March 31, 1969 in Rapid City to Larry Dean and Sandra Bock. Eva Marie lived with her family in Newcastle. As a child, she was a Girl Scout and Job's Daughter and quickly discovered a love for all living things.
Eva Marie graduated from Newcastle High School in 1987. She began working at Weston County Children's Center in 1985. She attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, graduating in 1996 with a degree in Communication Disorders. She continued working for Weston County Children's Center/Region III Developmental Services until the time of her death while spending summers working at the family motel in Healdsburg, CA.
Eva Marie touched the lives of many, many children throughout her life. She had a gift of knowing just what made each of them happy. She was a Girl Scout Leader, volunteered for many children's events and was a member of several clubs including: the Investment Club, a cooking club and scrapbooking.
She loved her family and her friends and devoted herself to them with all her heart. She knew many, many people and made a friend everywhere she went. Eva Marie was not only a wonderful daughter, sister, friend etc., she gave a piece of herself to everyone. Eva Marie was truly an angel on Earth.
She enjoyed shopping, traveling, trying new things and spending time with her nieces and nephew. She loved life and made every effort to make hers as full as possible.
Eva Marie loved entering contests, raffles and drawings and her family and friends soon discovered that she won more often than not.
She is survived by her parents Larry Dean and Sandie of Newcastle, brothers Corey Healdsburg, CA, Weston and wife Melissa of Newcastle and their children Brittney, Carson and Varsity, grandparents Jack and Wanda Fretwell of Newcastle and Marion Bock of Osage. She is also survived by her boyfriend Eli Natchke and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends of all ages.
Eva Marie is preceded in death by her grandfather Oliver Bock, aunt Karen Townsend and great uncle Keith Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Weston County Children's Center in Eva Marie's name. A scholarship fund will be established for children to attend preschool there.
