Elva Burgess

Elva J. Burgess, age 96, a resident of Royal Oak since 1961, died August 19, 2011 at Cambridge South Healthcare Center in Beverly Hills. She was born January 13, 1915 in Clarksville, AR to the late Augustus and Bertha King. Mrs. Burgess loved to sew and garden. She is survived by her children, William Gail Burgess of Bronson, MI and Rita Peasley of Huntington Woods; and grandchildren, Heather Peasley and Matthew Valerie Peasley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Draffus C. Burgess, in 1996. The visitation will be Monday 3-8 p.m. and service Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy.
