Ellen Tommy Orton Custis Perino died at her home September 12, 2007 due to complications from a rare form of leukemia.
Born Ellen Laurel Orton in Laramie, WY on February 18, 1931, ?Tommy? grew up on the family ranch at Elk Mountain and was very active in 4-H and the agricultural community. After graduating from Laramie High School in 1949, she returned to the ranch until her marriage to Ron Custis in March of 1955. The couple settled in Newcastle in 1959, with the first two of their five children.
Ellen and Fred Perino were married on February 26, 1982. She worked with her husband at Fred?s Ranch Supplies, and later, F&F Auction until 2005.
She was active in many organizations in the community including Sorority, Eastern Star and P.E.O. She also enjoyed the ?bragging rights? that came with the couple?s twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Fred Perino; daughter, Sue Palm and husband Andy of McCleary, WA; son, Norm Custis and wife Heidi of Saratoga, WY; daughter Jodi Lanosga of New Orleans, LA; son, Doug Custis and wife Deb of Spearfish, SD; son Paul Custis and wife Elizabeth of McCleary, WA. Stepchildren Linda Hunt, Jim Perino and wife Gail, Sandy Goodwin and husband Steve, Marcia Williams and husband Kenny, all of Newcastle. Twenty grandchildren: Zachary Palm, Drew Palm, Ryan Custis, Krisha Custis, Kally Custis, Thomas Lanosga, Steven Lanosga, Ashley Ziegler, Taylor Custis, Megan Custis, Connor Custis, Austin Hunt, Jamie Polk, Shay Mayland, Bret Reed, Casey Reed, Tara Williams, Jeff Goodwin, Jerrod Williams, McKinley Williams; and great grandchildren, Spencer Lanosga and Tayton Ann Williams.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18th at the Weston County Senior Services with the Reverend Norm Brotzman, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Weston County Health Services Home Health Care.
