Elizabeth Kosmala

Elizabeth "Bettie" Jane Kosmala nee Turner age 87, died February 21, 2010. Elizabeth Kosmala, known as "Bettie" to her friends and family died peacefully in her sleep at Mary's Center for Seniors where she had resided for the last 4 years. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Bettie ultimately moved to New York where she met her then-"soldier" Stanley. After WWII they moved to Detroit, MI. Bettie made her career in Detroit working for General Motors Photographic. Upon retiring she and Stan moved to Vero Beach, Florida; where they lived for 21 years. Two years after Stan's death in 2001, she returned to Clinton Township, MI; to be close to her son and grandchildren. She is survived by her son Joseph Ardis Kosmala of Clinton Township, MI; grandchildren Cortney Jerrold Jackson of Southfield, MI, Lindsay Jonathan Furst of Asheville, NC, and Chelsea Kosmala of Clinton Township, MI; her sister Claire Horn of Wilkes-Barre, PA, brothers: James Peg Turner of New Jersey, and Edward Ann Turner of New Jersey, and sister-in-law: Lottie Buzlawski of Warren, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Stanley Kosmala, sisters: Hazel Waruzewski, Ruth Allen, Helen Thomas, and brothers: Robert Turner and Charles Turner. Visitation Friday 4:00pm to 6:00pm and Saturday 11:00am to 1:00pm at Aycock Funeral Home, in Ft. Pierce, FL. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm at St. Helen's Church, Vero Beach, FL.
