Elizabeth J. Cranson, age 98, a resident of Clawson, formerly of Royal Oak, died September 14, 2013 at Evergreen Health and Living Center in Southfield. She was born April 29, 1915 in Royal Oak to the late John and Edith Sullivan. Mrs. Cranson was a longtime member of the Salvation Army. She was a Sunday school teacher, Girl Guard Leader and Cradle Roll Leader. She was also active in the Home League and a member of the Harvest Seekers. She is survived by her children, Verla Richard Babcock of Livonia and Robert Cheryl Cranson of Virginia; grandchildren, Curtis Babcock, Dean Laura Babcock, Jenny Matt Greeland and Adam Anglia Cranson; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Cranson, in 1996; the couple married March 20, 1939 in Royal Oak. The visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday 1-9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Cranson will lie in state Friday 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Salvation Army Royal Oak Citadel Corps, 3015 N. Main Street, with Captain Peter Mount officiating.
