Eleanore C. Sharpe, age 85, a resident of Birmingham for more than 60 years, passed away peacefully March 25, 2014 at her home. She was born October 9, 1928 in Highland Park to the late Francois and Gladys Lacelle. Ms. Sharpe received her bachelor's of science and master's degrees from Michigan State University. She retired in 1993 from the Pontiac Public School system after 20 years of service as an elementary school teacher. She was the loving mother of Cathy Marty Schodowski of St. Clair Shores, Steven Deborah Sharpe of Royal Oak, Paul Cindy Sharpe of Phoenix, AZ and Tina John Bennis of Royal Oak; dear sister of Frances Koch of Austin, TX, Vivian Bud Ring of Lake Orion and the late Donald Lacelle; sister-in-law of Helen Lacelle; proud grandmother of 17; great grandmother of 20; and also survived by many nieces and nephews. The visitation will be Thursday 3-8 p.m. and Friday 2-6 p.m. with a 4 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Ms. Sharpe will lie in state Saturday 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass 11 a.m. at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Troy. Memorials to the donor's choice of charity are appreciated.
