Eileen Bush

Eileen V. Bush Talentino passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 27, 2013. Eileen was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 10, 1924 to Marius and Rose Sylvester Talentino. She attended MacKenzie High School and, during the wartime, became a Red Cross volunteer with her sister, Delphine. Inspired to become a nurse, she attended the Henry Ford School of Nursing as a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps and graduated in 1946. Eileen continued to work at Henry Ford Hospital until she married John Joseph Bush in 1950 and began a family. John and Eileen were married for 51 years before he passed away in 2001. Together they raised eight children: Elaine Bush of Kaleva MI; the late John Bush of Ann Arbor, MI; Ralph Joyce Bush of Ortonville, MI; Mary Bush of Royal Oak, MI; Charles Julie Bush of Houston, TX; Margaret Mike McNally of Hamburg, MI; Liz Todd Cunningham of Rochester Hills, MI; and Kate Pete Pultz of Royal Oak, MI. She was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Eileen reentered the work force as a nurse when her oldest child started college. She worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac and retired from Martin Place Hospital, Madison Heights. The family would like to thank Carolyn Clifford for providing such loving care for their mother over the past two years. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E. of Woodward, Royal Oak. Memorial visitation Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial Mass 1:30 p.m. at St. Bonaventure Monastery, 1780 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen be considered.
