Fisher, Edward J. Jr. Age 67. December 30, 2012. Edward grew up in Birmingham, Michigan and graduated from Shrine High School. From an early age he enjoyed participating in, and following, a variety of sports, particularly football, baseball and basketball. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Edward met and married Dianne shortly after his service in the United States Air Force and eventually settled in Berkley to start his own family. After working many years in industrial sales, Edward became the third generation to head the family grocery business: Fisher's Market. Many of the Fisher family worked alongside Edward as he helmed the butcher shop, including aunts, uncles, siblings and cousins. Fisher's regular customers were drawn to his gregarious personality and he was delighted to connect with all those he came into contact. A member of Royal Oak Missionary Church and the charter President of the Berkley Optimist Club, Edward's values of service and community were always at the forefront. In his downtime, Edward focused on stamp and coin collecting and, together with Dianne, antiquing while traveling. Since retirement, Edward and family spent as much time as possible at their northern Michigan cottage in Oscoda, Michigan. These times, especially with his beloved grandchildren, were the highlight of his later years. Edward's presence has been meaningful to so many and we are all enriched for having done life with him. Edward was the beloved husband of Dianne nee Flor; loving father of Stephanie Michael Shea and Matthew Elizabeth; dear brother of Susan McCarthy, Stephen, Eleanor, Margaret Moquin, Patricia, the late Kathleen and Michael; and proud grandfather of four grandchildren.
