Funeral services for Edna E. Roll, 89, of Newcastle will be held Thursday December 17, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at Worden's Funeral Home with Bill Haley and Charles Dutcher officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery following the services. Visitation will be December 16, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The family would like for you to join them for fellowship at Weston County Senior Center following internment.
Edna died Monday December 14, 2009 at Weston County Health Services.
She was born January 11, 1920 in Hebron, ND to Christian and Magdalena Heupel Staiger. She had four brothers: Edwin, Adam, Alvin and Arnold and two sisters: Lorraine and Anita.
She married Jacob Roll on March 30, 1948 in North Dakota where they together worked on their farm. In 1951, her husband went to work for an oil company and the couple moved to Newcastle in 1956 and have resided there ever since. Together Jake and Edna had five children. Edna enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, growing flowers, raising birds and cooking. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing the polka and waltz. She took great pleasure and pride in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Together they brought many smiles to each others' faces. She always knew how to have fun and enjoyed each and every moment she shared with them. She will forever hold a special place in their hearts. She always made sure that her family knew just how much they meant to her.
Survivors include her husband Jacob Roll, Newcastle, WY; four daughters Marian Dave Rogers, Pine, CO; Darlene Larry Berger, Newcastle, WY; Sharlene Roll, Casper, WY; and Eileen Frank Toth, Newcastle, WY; and one son Jacob Roll Jr. of Newcastle, WY. Also, surviving her are grandchildren: Trisha Robert Kenney; Troy Nocona Toth; Aaron Andrea Berger; Brandy Scott Liska; and Tate Berger. Great-grandchildren include Megan and Dillon Kenney; Dawson and Brylee Toth and Austin and Braeden Liska. Other surviving members of her family include: Anita Don Ottema, Newcastle, WY; Lorraine Bill Abshere, Renton, WA; and Adam Eileen Staiger, Seattle, WA; and sister in-law Gladys Staiger, Seattle, WA.
Pallbearers will be Robert Kenney, Troy Toth, Aaron Berger, Tate Berger, Darrell Ottema and Byron Ottema. Honorary pallbearers include Frank Toth, Larry Berger, Dave Rogers and Jacob Roll Jr.
