Earl Hagedorn

Earl H. Hagedorn, age 93, of Royal Oak, died April 2, 2009 at his home. He was born March 19, 1916 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Hagedorn was a 62-year resident of Royal Oak who dedicated his life to his family. He was a car guy, a union man, a favorite, helpful neighbor, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran, who served in the Aleutian Islands. His love of nature, the family farm, and the simple life are the legacy he leaves to all of us. He is survived by his children, Allen Nancy Hagedorn of Pleasant Hill, CA, Robert Christine Hagedorn of Troy, Patrick Hagedorn of Linden, Nancy Richard Fidler of Saline and Daniel Hagedorn of Clawson; grandchildren, Cynthia, Catherine, Elizabeth, Hayley, Scott and Tricia; and great grandchildren, Zachary, Natalie, Jackson, Alec, Nathan and Kayley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Hagedorn, on June 15, 2006. The couple married February 10, 1945 in Detroit. Visitation will be Sunday 2 - 8 p.m. with a scripture service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Hagedorn will lie in state Monday 9:30 a.m. until time of mass 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Troy, with the Rev. Edward Belczak officiating.
