Dudley Dinges

Dudley Warren Dinges, age 66 of Newcastle, WY, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2023.

Dudley was born on October 5, 1957 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, WY. He attended elementary school and part of his middle school years in Wheatland, prior to moving to Newcastle with his family in December of 1972. Dudley was a 1976 graduate of Newcastle High School, a 1978 graduate of Casper College and a lifelong resident of the State of Wyoming.

Dudley is survived by his parents, Richard and Barbara Dinges of Newcastle, his brother Randy (Debbie) Dinges of Springfield, TN and his nephew Colter (Alexis) Overman of Franklin, KY. He was preceded in death by his sister Kristin Howell.

For over 30 years, Dudley was a long haul truck driver hauling freight all across our nation. He logged millions of miles on America’s highways, and made friends at terminals and truck stops wherever he drove. Dudley was particularly proud of the trucking run he made for years hauling oilfield freight from Houston, TX to Prudhoe Bay, AK. We always thought we’d see him on an episode of Ice Road Truckers.

Dudley was an avid sports fan, and was particularly passionate about NASCAR racing. He enjoyed traveling either by himself or with his brother to NASCAR tracks all over the country.

He was also very passionate about football, whether it be high school, college or the NFL. His fall weekends were consumed by football, and he went into hibernation every year during college football bowl season.

Dudley was a quiet man, but he could always be counted on to be there when needed. When you made friends with Dudley, you had a friend for life. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, and we loved the time we had together with him. Although he has gone to join his beloved sister Kris in heaven, he will be forever missed by those of us he leaves behind.

Graveside services for Dudley will be held on Thursday, December 7^th at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle, WY. The Reverend Ron Sample officiating.
