Beloved husband of Joan. Loving father of Candace Richard Jacques, Ralph Linda Jones, Andrea Jones, and Lisa Jones. Also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Brother of Georgia Kelley and Betty Harold. Also leaves behind his faithful companion, Rafferty, his Brittany spaniel. Dr. Jones was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he was PT Boat 132 skipper. He was a graduate of Central Normal College in Indiana and Wayne State University, where he earned his master's and doctorate degrees. Dr. Jones was a 30-year member of the National Ski Patrol, and a 27-year volunteer instructor and trainer CPR and First Aid with the American Red Cross. He began his teaching career in Greenwood, IN and later taught in the Highland Park School District, where his career included: Administrator, Deputy Superintendant of Business, Assistant Superintendant of Personnel, President of Highland Park Community College, Dean of Men, Guidance Counselor and Basketball Coach. In addition, he taught driver's education and night school. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, especially taking walks, golfing and was particularly conservation minded. He was also a gunner/trainer for the Southeast Michigan Springer Spaniel Training Club. In his youth, he was a member of the 4H Club and raised prize winning Hampshire Hogs. Memorial gathering Sunday 2-8 pm with Memorial Service Monday at 10 am at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E. of Woodward, Royal Oak.
