Dr. Carl Ritchie Jr

RITCHIE, CARL W. JR. D.D.S, age 81, Feb. 1, 2005 of Utica. Beloved husband of Donna. Dear father of Kathleen Thomas Gilginas, Leah Timothy Phillips, Janeen Robert Conwell, Cynthia George Reichert, Nanette Ferrans, Laurie Zink, Carol Gary Navock, Natalie Puckett, David Lynda Ritchie and the late Carl W. Ritchie III. 18 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren. Dr. Ritchie was a Dentist in Utica for over 30 years. Dr. Carl W. Ritchie Jr. D.D.S., a life long resident of Utica and Shelby Township. Dr. Ritchie was a dentist from 1952 until his retirement in 1983. He attended the school of Dentistry at University of Michigan. After graduating he became an associate with Dr. Russell Hawley. In 1955, he opened a private practice on Cass Ave. in Utica. In 1970, he moved his dentist office to Cass and Summers and retired in 1983 after 31 years of practice. He practiced dentistry on three generations of families in the Utica area. He married Donna Martin on September 3, 1947. He is a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus, the Dental Association of Michigan, and the Utica Business Roster for more than 30 years. A decorated U.S. Army veteran of WWII, earning three bronze medals. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road, Utica, with Rev. Fred Kalaj officiating. Inurnment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. Visitation is 1-9pm Monday, with a 7:00pm scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica. Additional visitation is 9:30 am until funeral mass at 10:00 am Tuesday at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assocation.
