Dorothy Zimmer

Dorothy C. Zimmer, age 99, a resident of Royal Oak since 1946, died June 23, 2012 at the Sanctuary at the Abbey in Warren. She was born July 30, 1912 in Saint Clair to the late Constant and Gertrude Plourde. Mrs. Zimmer was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak since 1946. She enjoyed crafts, painting, camping and traveling to all 50 states. She is survived by her children, Christyann Gar Wood of Sturgis, MI, Paula David Zaffina Zimmer of Madison Heights, Joseph Crystal Zimmer of Grants Pass, OR, Mary Bob Lenaway of Ferndale and Danial Zimmer of Royal Oak; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Zimmer. The visitation will be Tuesday 1-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Zimmer will lie in state Wednesday 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass 1 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Paul Chateau officiating.
