Dorothy Strong

Dorothy McNeill Strong, 90, of Berkley, died April 15, 2008 at her home. She was born Dec. 11, 1917 in Roswell, New Mexico. Mrs. Strong was the owner and proprietor of Watkins Cigar Company in the David Whitney building for 27 years. She was a member of the Kirk in the Hills Church in Bloomfield Hills. Mrs. Strong was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Strong, on Feb. 10, 1991. The couple wed Aug. 24, 1946 at St. Mark Church in Detroit. She is survived by her children, Mary Susan Henry Strong Scott and Robert Donald Jill Strong; brother, Richard McNeill; grandchildren, Terry Pat Hughes, Tina Mike Andrzejak, Kelly Paul Ferri, Robert Strong and Jason Scott; six great grandchildren and one on the way. Mrs. Strong was also preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Laura McNeill; siblings, Clayton McNeill, Edith Geir and Martha Minisci.
