PHIPPS, Dorothy A. age 87, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Alton Phipps he died December 23, 2006. Loving mother of Pastor A.C. Nita Phipps of Sterling Heights, MI. Proud grandmother of Ryan Andrea Phipps of Pittsburg, PA. Dear sister of Lawrence Claire Sweet of Comfort, Texas. Mrs. Phipps was a member of Evanswood Church of God in Troy. She and her husband served as lay ministers at the North Main St. Church of God in Butler, Pennsylvania for 10 years. They were both very active in their church and always generously opened their home to family and friends. Her first memorial service will be Thursday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. at North Main Church of God, 1201 N. Main Street, Butler, Pennsylvania. The second Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 29th at 12:30 p.m. immediately following the morning services at Evanswood Church of God, 2602 E. Square Lake Road, Troy, Michigan.
