Dorothy Huey

Dorothy R. Huey nee Marks, age 87, a resident of Royal Oak since 1970, formerly of Ferndale, died March 17, 2011 at her home. She was born October 8, 1923 in Flint to the late Russell and Virgia Marks, but grew up in McBain, MI. Mrs. Huey retired from William Beaumont Hospital after 30 years as a registered nurse. She graduated from Butterworth Hospital Nursing School, and was a member of the Army Nurses Corp. She loved collecting Hummels. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor G. Huey, on February 9, 1998. She is survived by her children, Bruce Huey of Royal Oak and Barbara Larry Goings of Royal Oak; grandchildren, Jennifer Huey, Allen Goings, Jonathan Theresa Andare and Kristina Huey; great grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Jay Dingwall, Julian Andare and Stella Goings; her beloved dog, Max; and siblings, Virginia Eugene Prehn of McBain and Joyce Heckler of Kentwood. A memorial service will be held in the spring in McBain, MI. Inurnment at Mount View Cemetery in McBain. Memorials to St. John Health Foundation - Hospice Division appreciated.
