Donald Lee Taylor, age 86, a resident of Royal Oak since 1947, died June 2, 2013. He was born October 13, 1926 in Evansville, IN to the late Alva and Hallie. Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Ferndale High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Merrick in the South Pacific. He was employed as a printer for many years and also at Reichhold Chemical. He was the manager of the Wayne Oakland Bank baseball team and associated with the league for 22 years. He was also associated with the Royal Oak football league. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn J. Koppelman; loving father of Patricia, Vickie Kramer, Kirk Marianne, Craig Debbie and Daniel; dear brother of Denny Jeanne; proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Memorial Mass Saturday 11 a.m. at Bishop Foley High School Chapel, 32000 Campbell Road, Madison Heights. Interment with military honors Monday 2 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
