Donald Harry Clark, died July 28, 2012, age 81. He was born December 7, 1930, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2012 with many of his loved ones surrounding him. Mr. Clark will be sorely missed by his loving companion of twelve years, Margaret Margie Grasel; children, Terry Jim Willard of Holly, MI, Karen Brad Frederick of Birmingham, MI, Vicki Larry Mahan of Oxford, MS, Debora Clark of Rochester Hills, MI; grandchildren, Kelly Jason Pawluk, Barbara Jon Wilkins, Joshua Mahan, Brandon Mahan, Evan Frederick, Cole Frederick; great-grandchildren, Clove Wilkins, Braylen Pawluk; niece, Kathy Locher of Mesa, AZ; and his children of the heart, Cheryl Joe Gruber, Linda Ron Effinger, Mario Delpomo , Laura Harkins, Kurtis Paula Wishart; grandchildren Deve Wishart, Konrad Wishart preceding in death, Joe Jacobs, Meghan Harkins; great-grandchild Alexa Harkins. He was preceded in death by his parents: W.D. Clark and Florence Clark; sister, JoAnne Clark Price; wife, Virginia Frye Clark and son, Bill Clark. Because of a family move during high school, Mr. Clark graduated from Alma High School in 1949, and was considered an honorary graduate of his former school, Sacred Heart Academy of Mount Pleasant. Mr. Clark served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and graduated from Central Michigan University. He began his career in city government in Alma Michigan as the City Treasurer and Tax Assessor. He continued in St. John's Michigan as City Treasurer, City Clerk and Tax Assessor; ending his civic service as City Manager of Swartz Creek, Michigan. He enjoyed his participation and leadership in the Lion's Club, Jaycee's, Knight's of Columbus and as a member of the Catholic Church. Don was adventurous, loved travel, being in nature, and appreciated the Arts but most of all being with his family. Don and Margie shared twelve loving years together embracing life, and making lasting memories together. Visitation Monday 4-8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Rd. 3 blks E. of Van Dyke Utica. Instate Tuesday 9:30 a.m at Church of St. Mary, Alma, Michigan until time of Mass 10:00. Entombment 1:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, Michigan. Memorials suggested to National Kidney Foundation.
