Don Geary

Don W. Geary, age 60, a resident of Ferndale, died April 10, 2013 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born July 15, 1952 in Highland Park to the late Donald and Dorothy Geary. Don was a retired police officer of the Ferndale Police Department and later worked for the Oakland County Sheriff. He was the proud father of Tammy Hopkins; dear brother of Bob Terry Geary and Rick Terry Geary; and uncle to Robin Geary-Ross, Bob Geary Jr., Rochelle Geary Daniels and Mackenzie Geary Branch. He loved playing and composing music. He played with many bands over his lifetime, and was a founding member of the local band Yesterday's Children. He was a talented artist, loved to bowl and was an avid collector of other people's things. He enjoyed spending time in his backyard pool with friends and family and was everyone's "Uncle Donnie". There will be a memorial visitation Saturday 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
