Dianne Lynn Collins, 57, of Rapid City, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, following a long illness.
She was born in Douglas, WY, May 17, 1949 to Harold and Bernice Hitshew, the fourth of eight children. She lived in Douglas until 1959 when her family moved to Newcastle, WY.
She married Terrance Collins on November 25, 1966 and resided in Newcastle. They were married for twenty years. She had four children: Wendy Bernice, Rachel Lynn, Donald Joseph, and Charity Starr.
She then moved to Rapid City in 1981 to pursue her dream as a cosmetologist and owned her own salon, Dianne's Beauty World. She later worked at Best Little Hair House and JCPenney Salon.
She married Keith Stoddard on May 30, 1992 and was married for three years. She then resumed work in sales at JCPenney until 2002, then worked in sales at House of Vacuums until her death.
Her daughters and grandchildren were very dear to her heart and she enjoyed calling them and spending as much time with them as possible.
Survivors include two daughters, Wendy Baker, Fort Collins, CO; Charity Noor, Belle Fourche, SD; six grandchildren, Alyssa Gale Baker, 20, Kylie Alexa Baker, 15, Karsten Scott Baker, 13, all residing in Fort Collins, CO; Caleb Hunter Noor, 8, Benjamin Judah Noor, 3, and Abigail Adah Noor, 1, all residing in Belle Fourche, SD; and four siblings, Karen Abbott, Hot Springs, SD; Dean Hitshew, Custer, SD; Donna Hitshew, Worland, WY; and Debra Ellis, Butte, MT.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel, and son, Donald; her parents, Harold Hitshew and Bernice Bozanich; her stepfather, Mike Bozanich; and three brothers, Dwane Hitshew, Kenneth Hitshew, and David Hitshew.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Worden Funeral Chapel, 111 South Railway Avenue, Newcastle, WY, with Pastor Barry Noor officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Newcastle, WY.
