Dennis Kleiss

Dennis F. Kleiss, age 58, a resident of Royal Oak, died August 5, 2013 at his home. He was born December 21, 1954 in Detroit. Mr. Kleiss grew up in Royal Oak and was a 1973 graduate of Bishop Foley High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran 1973-77 who served on the USS Raleigh, LPD-1. He worked at the Detroit Newspaper Agency for 29 years. He also was a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary C. Miller Kleiss; whom he married June 24, 1978 at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Royal Oak; children, Cathy Kleiss and Regis Kleiss both of Royal Oak; granddaughter, Elizabeth Eubank; siblings, Beverly White of Orlando, FL, Edward Sandi Kleiss of Shelby Township and Francine Dave Schmidt of Hazel Park; six nieces and nephews; and four great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Canut and Julia Kleiss; and brother-in-law, Jim White. The visitation will be Thursday 2-8 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Burial with military honors will be Monday 2:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Angela Hospice are appreciated.
