Delphine Veronica Flajole
Delphine was born in Bay City, Michigan on October 27, 1909 and died peacefully at home on December 19, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Flajole and her son Michael Flajole. Delphine is survived by her children Fr. John Flajole of Galveston, Texas, Pierre Flajole of Royal Oak, Michigan, Mary Flajole of Royal Oak, Michigan, Dr. Raphael Carol Flajole of Lake Orion, Michigan and daughter-in-law Jewell Flajole of Dewitt, Michigan.
Delphine was "Nana" to Michael Windi Flajole, Dr. Mark Flajole, Andrea Flajole, Rachel Jeff Ridley, Emily Flajole, Julia Phil Thomas, and Molly Flajole. She was also great-grandmother to Liam and Evan Ridley, Zachary and Natalie Flajole and Rileigh Florshinger.
Delphine is also survived by and will be missed by her loving caregivers Brian, Lovely, Stella, and John.
Delphine graciously volunteered at Shrine Church in Royal Oak arranging flowers, decorating for the holidays, working on the liturgy committee, and serving in many other ways. She was a faithful, prayerful woman whose life was devoted to God and her church.
Delphine loved caring for her family, cooking nutritious meals, swimming and exercise, flowers and chocolate.
Delphine celebrated her 100th birthday in October. On her last day she was walking, talking, eating and praying. She died with her shoes on surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation Tuesday 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd 4 Blocks E. of Woodward Royal Oak. Funeral Wednesday 9:30 a.m. in state 10 a.m mass. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. Memorials appreciated to Catholic Relief Services.
