Delphine F. "Dolores" Ardito, age 87, passed away on September 25, 2014. She was born March 13, 1927 to Angela and Samuel Ardito and lived at 957 Blaine in Detroit, across from Herman Kiefer Hospital. Dolores graduated from St. Agnes High School in Detroit and was a retired secretary from the Detroit Board of Education. She was a true humanitarian and donated to numerous charities. She loved children and animals and enjoyed traveling. She made four trips to Italy, including a pilgrimage to visit the Miracles of Padre Pio in Pietrelcina. Dolores also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and listening to music. In her years past, she was a pianist, tap dancer and gymnast. She was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel and Angela; dear sister of Marie T. Caldwell of Commerce, John R. Ardito of Sevierville, TN, Barbara A. Kerr of Royal Oak and the late Josephine L. Miley, Joseph F., Henry F., Arthur A., James L., Richard J., Wilma I. "Yolanda" Arata and Dorothy Beardsley; and aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. May she rest in peace. The visitation will be Sunday 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary and Monday 3-8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Dolores will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal Oak. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association are appreciated.
