David Lee Whitney, 50, of Newcastle, WY died Monday, November 27th at his home near Newcastle.
He was born the Newcastle New Year?s baby, January 1, 1956 to Orville and Ilene Finn Whitney. He was raised on a ranch on Mush Creek west of Newcastle. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1974. He worked for Toco Corporation after graduation.
He married Deb Grubb in Newcastle on August 6, 1982. The couple lived and ranched on the Finn Ranch. He continued to work in the oil field as a rig hand, rig operator and finally as oil field pumper. He was currently employed by Black Hills Exploration and Production.
He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, the Polled Hereford Association, and honorary member of the Newcastle FFA.
He took great pleasure in attending his son?s activities, whether it was class field trips, sporting events or AG activities.
Survivors include his wife, Deb; four sons, James, Joe, Jason and Jerry; his parents, Orville and Ilene Whitney; three brothers Leslie DeAnn, LeRoy Bonnie, and Clinton Patty; two nephews, Danny and Kenny and one niece, LeAnn all of the Newcastle area.
