David Paul Hill, age 64, of Hillman, formerly of Ferndale, died February 2, 2009 at his home. He was born April 2, 1944 in Williamsburg, KY. Mr. Hill made his home in Ferndale from 1979-1996. He has lived in Hillman since 1996. Mr. Hill came to Michigan in 1949. He retired from GM Livonia Plant in 1995 after 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served 18 months in Germany during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Janice E. DeWolf Hill, whom he married on March 16, 1994, in Gatlinburg, TN, but they had been together for 54 years; children, Lori Roy Salazar of Milford, Heidi Joe Crisi of Inkster, David P. Brenda Hill, Jr. of Hazel Park, Harlan Angel Hill of Ferndale and son-in-law, Ken Loper; siblings, Arneda Bowen of Hazel Park and Imogene Jasper Sugg of Livonia; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheri Loper; and eight siblings. Visitation will be held Thursday 2-9 p.m. and the service Friday 1 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev. Corey Fanning officiating. Burial will be at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
