Darlene Scissons, 78, Newcastle, WY, passed away Friday, March 5th at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, WY.
She was born April 28, 1931 in Colome, SD to Harry and Maude Wilson Berendes. She graduated from Colome High School. On September 2, 1950 she married Paul Scissons in Colome, SD. She and Paul lived in various communities where he taught until they settled in Newcastle, WY in 1956.
Darlene was a homemaker and mother. She raised her family and after her husband's retirement they enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends, and spending time together. In addition, Darlene was very active in the Catholic Church, PEO, Bridge Clubs, and various social and community organizations.
Survivors include her daughter Roxie, Carpenter, WY; three sons, Robert Gloria of Toledo, OH, Michael Kara-Leigh of Cheyenne, WY and Patrick of Casper, WY; her brother Robert, Fountain, FL; five grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Paul, Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Andre Scissons; her brothers Kenneth, Glen, Clifford, Harold, and Darrel.
