D. Imogene "Jean" Patterson, age 82, a resident of Royal Oak since 1962, died January 31, 2010 at her home. She was born January 13, 1928 in Bloomfield, OH. Mrs. Patterson was a 1946 graduate of the Ohio Institute for Medical Assistants. She was employed by physicians in Williamstown, WV, Cincinnati and Dayton, OH from 1946-1957. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, where she served as Deacon and Trustee. She was also employed as the financial secretary of the church from 1971 until her retirement in 1988. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Royal Oak Woman's Club since 1987, and a past volunteer for Mobile Meals and the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her children, David Deborah Patterson of Gillette, WY and Jenny Earl McHugh of Troy; grandchildren, Missy, Maddy, Merrilee, Wendi, Marci and Steven; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Patterson, on November 14, 1981; son, Craig Patterson; and brother, Robert Schafer. The memorial visitation will be Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The memorial service will be Thursday 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Rice officiating. The inurnment will take place Saturday 11:30 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park in Marietta, OH.
