Clayton A. Lombard, age 83, a resident of Royal Oak for the past 40 years, formerly of Ferndale, died March 4, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born June 6, 1927 in Barre, VT. Mr. Lombard retired in 1983 from General Motors Fisher Body Division, where he worked as a statistician for 40 years. He was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and their Usher Club. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Lombard, the couple married June 10, 1950 in Detroit; children, Edward J. Trudy Lombard of Ludington, Daniel J. Tammy Lombard of Coastal Shores, NC, Michael J. Jodi Lombard of New Baltimore and Deborah A. Lombard of Bloomfield Township; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Alice Lombard. The visitation will be Sunday 4-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Lombard will lie in state Monday 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 11 a.m. at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Tony Ong officiating.
