No services are planned for Claudia Jean Gilkison, 63, who died Saturday, June 28th at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis at a later date. The family prefers memorial contributions to help with funeral expenses in lieu of flowers.
Claudia was born September 2, 1944 at home birth in Santa Barbara, California the daughter of Virgil and Claudia Honeyman Buck. She attended school in California. Mrs. Gilkison moved to Newcastle in the 1970's where she was employed at various jobs. She also was employed as a caregiver with Weston County Home Health Agency. She loved the outdoors, rock hunting and fishing. She married Boise Gilkison January 21, 1979.
She is survived by her husband Boise of Newcastle; mother Claudia Buck of Newcastle; three daughters, Susan Jeff Sanden of Arizona, Jamie Michael Hill of Rapid City, South Dakota and Shanina Brinkman of Virginia. Also surviving are four brothers and one sister all living in California; five grandchildren, Heather Voigt Hilla�"Ryan of Gillette, Sayla Buffington Bennett Rob of Newcastle, Michael Hill of Pinedale, WY, Megan Trisler of Texas, Tanner Brinkman of Florida and four great grandsons.
Preceding her in death was her father and one son Shawn Steele.
