Clarence "Jake" Jakubiak Born 10/18/32 in Detroit, Michigan Died 12/3/12 in Clinton Township, Michigan at 80 years of age. Employed / retired from: Central Distributers of Budweiser Beer in Romulus, MI Military: Proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in December 1954. While stationed in Germany, Jake served as a Combat Construction Specialist and received 2 medals: Army of Occupation Medal Germany and the National Defense Services medal. Memberships: · Independent Order of Foresters: Proud member and volunteer leader of the Foresters, a membership-based fraternal benefits organization which also provides multiple community activities for families. · Knights of Columbus: Forty year member of the Knights of Columbus, an Order of Catholic gentlemen committed to performing charitable works; serving the Church, acting for the good of the country and giving aid to widows, orphans, the sick and the poor. · Veterans of Foreign Wars: Proud member of the VFW, dedicated to fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable and educational mission to perpetuate the memory of our dead, assist their families and maintain true allegiance to the USA. Family: Married to Marion "Toots" Jakubiak nee Baier for almost 50 years before her death in August 2002. Four children: Kathleen "Jake" Jakubiak Kovacek Peter Kovacek - Harper Woods, MI the late David Jakubiak - 1957 to 2007 Eileen Hilton Roy - Chesterfield Township, MI the late Thomas Jakubiak - 1964 to 1995 Five grandchildren: Gary Hilton Lindsay of Harrison Township, MI David Kovacek of Annandale, VA, Katharine Kovacek of Alexandria, VA, Steven Hilton of Chesterfield Township, MI Laura Kovacek of Madison, WI. Sister: Geraldine "Gerry" Quenneville of Sterling Heights, MI Sister-in-law: Joan Jakubiak of Pineville, LA Brother: the late Richard "Dick" Jakubiak 1933 to 2012 Brother-in-law: the late Roger Quenneville died 1998 Son of the late Clarence S. died 1966 and Charlotte Jakubiak nee Weglarek died 1994 Memorial contributions: Jake supported many charities throughout his life, but two were especially important: The VFW - Bruce Post in St. Clair Shores, MI and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Visitation Thursday from 3:00pm-8:00pm and funeral service 10:30am at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, 3 blocks east of Van Dyke Utica.
