Chester Davis

Chester W. Davis, age 50, a 16-year resident of Detroit, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at St. John Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights. He was born February 25, 1958, in Pontiac. Mr. Davis loved helping others. His family described him as a loving and caring brother. He is survived by his parents, Ianthia Detkowski and Benjamin Davis; siblings, Mary Tom Coley of Eastpointe, Louis McClure of St. Louis, MI and Theresa Todd Schwanke of Madison Heights; grandmother, Mary Coddington of Hazel Park; 10 nieces and nephews; and four great nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Davis. Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2008, from 3-8 p.m. and service Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
