Charles Sprigg, age 86, a resident of Madison Heights for more than 50 years, died January 18, 2011 at St. John Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights. He was born in Highland Park. Mr. Sprigg was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre. He received his bachelors of science degree in 1947 and then an MBA, both from the University of Michigan. He retired in 1982 from Sperry Vickers in Troy, where he worked as an engineer. He was later employed by Hilzinger Hardware in Royal Oak. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Bishop Sprigg, whom he married February 6, 1954; and daughters, Kathleen O'Brien of Wyoming, MI, and Paula Joseph Ferus of Madison Heights. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Sprigg in 1985. The visitation will be Friday 2-9 p.m. and service Saturday 1 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
