Charles Simpson

Charles Simpson, age 94, a resident of Berkley, died at his home on July 22, 2012. He was born February 23, 1918 in Aberdeen, Scotland. He was the beloved husband of Bernadette Shaw for 66 years; loving father of Christine Apel and Gayle Eddie Dolgan; dear brother of Gilda Rumble; brother-in-law of Vesta Shaw; also survived by many nieces and nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Christina McHattie Simpson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved taking photographs and painting pictures. The visitation will be Wednesday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Masonic Memorial Service, under the Auspices of Northwood-Ancient Craft Lodge #551 F&AM, at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The funeral will be Thursday 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
