Charles Murphy

MURPHY, CHARLES R., age 84 of Rochester Hills, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Charles Chuck worked at the G.M. Tech Center for over 30 years as a template and wood model maker. In his younger years he enjoyed working on cars with his brothers and friends, raising and racing homing pigeons, pheasant hunting and later on became an avid photographer. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. His greatest joy, however, was laughing, joking and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Erna; children Karen Gary Gronzo of Rochester Hills, Mark Murphy of Rochester, Gary Beth Murphy of Roseville and Lori Keith Rhodes of Metamora; four grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Gronzo, Myles Murphy and Michael Rhodes. Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, John Murphy, Francis Murphy, Richard Murphy, Robert Murphy; sisters Marie Caldwell, Virginia Reese and daughter in law Mary Murphy. Funeral Services will be Private. Should friends and family desire, memorials are suggested to be made to the Wishes of the Family. Arrangements by Wm.
