Carol Hershey

Carol C. Hershey, 87, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, Wyoming.  She was born on November 4, 1933, at home in Pennington County, South Dakota, to Val and Minnie Knapp.  After growing up and attending school in Rapid City, she married Charles Hershey and they celebrated 65 years of marriage.  She worked many jobs in Rapid City and Newcastle, including Montgomery Ward and CLT Flooring and Furnishings.  Carol enjoyed meeting and serving all the customers throughout the years.  She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many of whom she babysat.  Carol was a mother and grandmother that was cherished and loved very deeply.  Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her mother and father, an infant brother, a sister and a brother.  She is survived by her brother, Gene (Rhonda) Knapp and sister, Irene Klueber; son, Randy (Theresa) Hershey; daughters DeAnn (Duke) Ottema and Connie (Darrel) Hieb; grandchildren Tiffany (Cody) Callaway, Crystal (Riley) Schrank, Logan (Sabrena) Hershey, Diane (Ty) Christensen, Duane (Lindsey) Ottema, Ryan (Kelsey) Hieb, Troy (Hannah) Hieb; great-grandchildren Mesa and Hazley Callaway, Wren Schrank, Troy and Brady Christensen, Aiden and Avery Ottema, and Ashtyn Hieb.  Services will be held Friday, October 29, 2021at 1:00 p.m. at Meridian Mortuary in Newcastle.
