Lelito, Carl, age 97, resident of Utica and Shelby Township, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He was born November 17, 1915 in Iron River, Michigan to the late Peter and Mary nee Jurczak Lelito. He Graduated from Castien High School in 1934. Carl was born in a small town in the Upper Peninsula and came to Detroit in his early Twenties to find work. He was the oldest of 14 children. He found work and also a bride. He was a truck driver to provide for his family. He enjoying taking his family mushroom hunting and ice skating in Rochester and Belle Isle. Many memorable trips were made each summer through the tunnel to Canada to visit family at their cottages. Carl was a devoted husband, good father, and a hard worker. He also was an avid reader, card player, and had a love for his flowers. He was a strong believer in the power of prayer which he handed down to his children. Carl is now with our heavenly Father, his wives, Helen and Mary, and beloved son Gary, dear granddaughter Helen. He is survived by his children: Timothy Ardis Lelito, Antoinette James Schumacher, Cynthia Gerald Kenyon, and daughter-in-law Marion Lelito. Proud grandfather of: Gary Chris Lelito, Cheryl Thomas Reichenbach, Michael Cody, Michele Cody, Renee Joseph Simmer, Gregory Katie Lelito, Amy Lelito, and Gerald Kenyon. Great Grandfather of: Megan, Timothy, Rachel, Jeffrey, Andrew, T.J., Matthew, Nelesia, Megan, Erica, Brooke, Lorenzo, Adrianno, Emma, and Dylan. Dear Brother of Mary Ed Kubinski. He will lie in state Monday 9:00 a.m. until time of his funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road, westside of Utica Road - south of Hall Road Utica.
