Byron Shaffer

Byron K. Shaffer, age 77, a resident of Royal Oak, died December 22, 2011 at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak. He was born August 29, 1934 in Detroit to the late Paul and Kathleen Shaffer. Mr. Shaffer graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor's degree in mass communications. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Japan for three years. He was employed at Ross-Roy Advertising Agency in Detroit for more than 25 years. In his spare time he was an avid golfer. Byron was a good husband and family man who loved his grandchildren. Beloved husband of Beverly nee Reilly. Loving father of Elizabeth James Caverly, James Susan, Kristen Patrick McHugh. Dear brother of Kathleen Robert King. Proud grandfather of eight grandchildren. Visitation Monday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
