Brakie Orr

Brakie J. Orr, age 94, a resident of Royal Oak, died December 30, 2012. He was born October 11, 1918 in Detroit. Mr. Orr graduated from the University of Detroit Law School and practiced in Pontiac for 30 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and served as a Captain in the 548 Field Artillery in the European Theater. He was the past Exalted Ruler of the Royal Oak Elks Lodge #1523. He was also a member of the University of Detroit Sports Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, Emily L. Orr; children, Thomas P. Mary Orr, Brian Diane Orr and Sally Orr; and three grandchildren. The visitation will be Wednesday 1-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Lodge of Sorrows service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The funeral will be Thursday 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dale Hunter officiating. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
