Beverly Shefferly

Beverly J. Shefferly, age 82, a resident of Royal Oak since 1949, died March 3, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born December 29, 1928 in Detroit. Mrs. Shefferly was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak for more than 50 years. She enjoyed knitting and bike riding. She is survived by her children, Nancy Ronald Young of Rochester Hills, Janet Frank Swinkey of Olympia, WA, William P. Shefferly of Venice, FL, Robert Shefferly of Royal Oak and Donna Kevin Moore of Royal Oak; siblings, Barbara Howe of Shelby Township and Richard Hazel Lewis of Sterling Heights; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 48 years, William E. Shefferly, in 1997; and brother-/sister-in-law, Arnold and Ruth Schmitt. Memorial visitation Saturday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Steven Wertanen officiating. Memorials to the church are appreciated.
