Betty Schmaltz

Schmaltz, Betty Avallone, born January 23, 1925 and passed away January 22, 2011 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Gale Schmaltz. Dear mother of Sue Bob Rau, John Kathleen Avallone, Bill Paige Avallone, and Michael Pat Avallone. Loving grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 6. Dear sister of Wanda Bretz and Joan Tourangeau. After retiring from The Village Club, Betty volunteered on several committees for the City of Sterling Heights and was a former President of the Grosse Pointe Questers. She started and became President of The Sterling Heights Garden Club. Betty also taught many different craft classes at JoAnn's and Michael's. A memorial gathering will be held at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd., 3 blks. E. of Van Dyke Utica on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.
