KONUPEK, BENJAMIN R., age 89, Dec. 30,. 2009 of Clinton Twp. Beloved husband of the late Marie. Loving father of Robert Annette Konupek and Linda Robert Scott. Proud grandfather of Robert Scott and Lindsay Brandon Radzik. Proud great grandfather of Nathan and Samantha Radzik and Tye Ludwig-Scott. Dear twin brother of the late Raymond Marita Konupek. Dear son of the late Frank and anna Koska Konupek. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Konupek was a veteran of the U.S. Army World War II, a 1956 Graduate of University of Detroit, Founder of Apollo Fire Equipment Co., Romeo where he continued to work until mid September 2009. He was a charter member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Clinton Twp. where he served as chairman of the congregation and elders. Sustaining member of Southeastern Fire Chief's Assoc. and Macomb County Fire Chief's Assoc.; member of Kiwanis Club of Mt. Clemens and Mt. Clemens Old Crowd; member of Gowanie Golf Club and past member of Burning Tree Golf Club. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings and enjoyed golf, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Friends may call at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. 3 blks. E. of Van Dyke Utica from 2-9:00 PM Sunday. Mr. Konupek will lie in state on Monday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 21400 S. Nunneley, Clinton Twp. from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM time of Service. Interment White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Luke Lutheran Church, The Salvation Army or Donor's Choice of Charity.
