Barbara Potts

Barbara Vivian Potts, born May 20, 1911 to Charles and Ethel Sprague in Muncie, IN, died July 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Potts, former City of Royal Oak Police Chief, and son Alan Potts. She leaves a son Richard; sister Beverly Tyler; brother James Fran Sprague; five grandchildren, Richard Karen, Dianna Andy Eldridge, Jeffrey Kim, Mary Jane and Jeremy; and six great grandchildren, Allison, Daniel, Emily, Michael, Alan and Adam. Barbara was the owner and manager of Mary Jane Flowers in Royal Oak from 1948 until she retired in the late 1970's. She and her husband moved to Stuart, FL where they enjoyed many years. Barbara was an avid golfer and played until she was 90 years old. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren and Shobie, the dog, very much. She will be greatly missed. Visitation Wednesday 5-9 p.m. and service Thursday 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
