Services for Annette F. Newlin, 82, of Newcastle were held on Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Eric Parker officiating.
Mrs. Newlin left her earthly life to be with her Savior on Dec. 4, 2007. She was born on June 11, 1925, to Batista and Olive Phillips Farella on the ranch outside of Newcastle, WY. Annette attended 1st thru 8th at the Farella School which was a half mile from their home. She moved to town and stayed with Crum?s and attended high school. She met Dale Z. Newlin in 1943 and on Oct. 11, 1945, at Hot Springs, SD, he became her loving husband. They made their home in Newcastle, WY after spending time in SD.
Annette spent many years working in the clothing business. She started out at Crum?s Department Store?s in Newcastle and Edgemont, SD. After returning to Newcastle, she went to work at Jane?s clothing store and then worked along side her sister-in-law, Darla Farella at Darla?s Fashions.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered with the United Methodist Women. Annette and Dale served as greeters at the church for many years, always with smiles and warm hugs for whoever walked in the church. She enjoyed walking with her friends and spending time with her close high school friend, Virginia Wahl. Annette enjoyed spending time with her two son?s, grandchildren and the rest of her brothers and sister and their families. She loved to work in her flower beds and weed the garden that Dale always planted.
In June of this year she moved to Denver to be close to her family. She is survived by her sisters Emma Lucille ?Toots? Farella Farnsworth, Theresa Farella Harper both of Newcastle, WY; sons, Dennis Michelle Newlin, Battle Mountain, NV and Doran Linda Newlin, Littleton, CO; grandsons, Blaine Yessenia Newlin, Tomball, TX, Denton Newlin, Gurnsey, WY, Luke Heather Martens Newlin, Littleton, CO, Marshall Newlin, Littleton, CO; granddaughters Dawn Brandon Williams, Amanda Cody Johns, Battle Mountain, NV and Cassie and Nicole Lewis, Battle Mountain, NV and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Newlin; parents, Batista and Olive Farella, brothers Augustine Farella, Angelo ?Leno? Farella and Tony Farella; sisters Marie Farella McIntosh and Joan Farella Miller.
A memorial has been established for the First United Methodist Women.
